Project Description

Two Storey Head Office, Burton-on-Trent (PDF)

Roger Bullivant Ltd commissioned a new Sustainable flagship head office building as part of a major redevelopment of their existing site. The Building was designed to take advantage of the Clients range of MMC (Modern Methods of Construction) and concrete building products to utilise the thermal mass advantages offered. The building is set in a triangular site in a heavily wooded area and the design has been developed to acknowledge and enhance the site. Passive solar design principals were exploited to reduce the carbon emissions emitted from heating and cooling. An example can be seen where large areas of glazing are shaded in the summer months by the overhanging ‘green’ roof.

The project was subject to detailed negotiations with the Local Planning Authority, due to its setting and the requirement of an extensive manufacturing unit which formed part of the application.
