Project Description

Conversion of Grade II* listed Building, Dower House, Quatt (PDF)

Following a series of consultations as to the best use of the now redundant Dower House School, it was concluded that the most sustainable use of the grade II* listed Dower House and outbuildings would be to refurbish and convert them to 7no dwellings of a variety of sizes, to cater to a broad section of the market.

The main listed building is to be converted into 2no large, luxury properties, with the outbuildings converted into 3no houses and 2no bungalows, in sizes catering from one bedroom up to four.

Key to the project was the conservation not only of the buildings exterior, but also historically significant original oak panels, stairs, shutters and ornamentation. With the aim of interfering with this historic fabric as little as possible, an especially light touch was needed , breathing new life into an old building whilst preserving its unique character.
