Project Description
School Sports Hall, Aldercar (PDF)
Aldercar Community Language College and Phoenix Centre's brief was to replace the school's existing 1950s sports hall with a purpose built facility, complying fully with Sports England design guidelines.
The new building is independent from existing school buildings and includes a full size four court sports hall with changing facilities, a fitness suite, and 3 classrooms for use by both the school and the local community.
The design utilised full height, insulated, pre-cast concrete panels to both sports hall and attached support facilities, this provided a robust solution both externally and internally. This MMC (Modern Method of Construction) reduced the on site construction period, thereby minimising the disruption to the school.
