Project Description
Following a fire that destroyed part of the school, a fast track solution to replace the facilities was required by Derbyshire County Council. In conjunction with Buchans Special Projects, etc Architects completed the design for 4 new classrooms, a library, head teacher office, staff room, medical room and reception area utilising pre-cast insulated concrete wall panels. This modern method of construction greatly reduced the time and disruption on-site. The extension had to accommodate a difference in site levels albeit being a single storey building. The concrete panels were finished externally with a through coloured render and a pitched tiled rood was chosen, sympathetically to the surrounding buildings.
