Project Description
deFerrers Specialist Technology College had, for many years, lacked a true Sport Hall facility at their Trent Campus in Burton-Upon-Trent. In conjunction with Staffordshire County Council and Buchans Special Projects etc Architects produced a successful design for a 4 court sized Sports Hall including changing rooms, fitness suite, classrooms and toilets utilising a modern method of construction in the form of pre-cast insulated concrete wall panels. This modern method of construction reduced the time taken on site significantly to minimise any disruption to the day to day school environment. The design fully complies with Sport England design guides and was awarded a 'Commended Award in the Burton-Upon-Trent Civic Society Design Awards 2009'.
