Following the successful completion of several Flight Training Centre developments, for Boeing Flight Services, etc Design Ltd were approached to provide architectural services for the fit out of a recently constructed warehouse, to form a new Flight Training Centre.

The Architects and Designers working on this project were able to overcome the complexities of fitting a Flight Training Centre into an existing building, which resulted in a very successful project conclusion. This included the installation of a demountable acoustic mezzanine floor of over 1200 sqm to provide first floor training areas, offices and specialist areas with reception, customer offices and café areas below.

Finding space for the necessary plant to serve the facility was also difficult as the Planning Authority would not accept anything too visibly intrusive. etc Design Ltd found that the solution to this was to install a large roof mounted plant platform with access via an extended staircase.

The remainder of the Facility provides space for 4 flight simulators and the project has been designed to achieve a BREEAM “excellent” rating.

etc Design Ltd were appointed to provide a full Architectural Service, Principal Designer Role and also provided Structural and M & E Consultancy Services for the project.
