etc Design Ltd had been working with Boeing Flight Services developing a new build concept for their Flight Training Facility buildings. The first build out of this concept was for this project at the Innovation & Technology Park, Skolkovo, Russia. 

The 4 storey central administration and training core includes Boeing’s Aviation Research & Development suite, all of which connects with a 4 bay flight simulator hall. This was partially glazed to showcase the electric motion flight simulators, both on approaching the facility and from within the main entrance and circulation atrium. This was a departure for Boeing, as the company had previously hidden the flight simulators within the envelope of their flight training centres.

The building concept enables a further 4 bay flight simulator hall extension to complete the L shaped footprint on this restricted site.

etc Design Ltd were appointed by Boeing Flight Services, as part of a consultancy team, to provide architectural design and technical services. These services were required to progress the initial concept design to suit the site constraints and to provide in-country support on detailed technical design, with employer requirement documents.
