etc Design Ltd were appointed by FlightSafety International to design a new Maintenance Training Facility located adjacent to their main Training Centre at Farnborough Airport, Hampshire, UK. 

The additional facilities include a Training Hall with ancillary rooms comprising plant rooms, store rooms and toilets. The new building is linked by a first-floor enclosed bridge to the main Training Centre originally designed by etc over 20 years ago and provides views across the Airport. Externally there is a concrete service yard, 20 additional car park spaces and landscaping. 

The new facility has been designed in complete contrast to the existing facility with diagonal profile insulated cladding to the link and lower-level ancillary rooms and standard vertical profile cladding to the taller main hall. This also includes natural lighting by way of a raking projecting zone with hit and miss windows. 

The project is now complete and ready for use by our client. 

etc Design were appointed to provide a full design team from inception to completion including Cost Consultancy, CDM Services, M & E Design and Structural/Civil Engineering.
