A private land owner in conjunction with developer, Morris Property, approached etc Design Ltd to undertake a master planning exercise to realise the potential for a rural mixed use development on the outskirts of Church Stretton in the Shropshire Hills, an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Through extensive consultation with the County Council the need for local housing, employment and tourism were identified.

Working with the topography of the sloping site a residential development of up to 85 dwellings was proposed as an extension to the existing village.

To support this proposed extension of the village, the masterplan also included an upgrade to the facilities at the Long Mynd Archers Club, which was adjacent to the site.

Further to this a local need was identified for start-up and medium sized industrial business space, together with a new outdoor pursuits centre incorporated into existing agricultural buildings.

The addition of B&B accommodation and 16 holiday lets overlooking a fishing lake, all created a central hub for tourists visiting the area, providing much needed local employment opportunities too.

etc Design Ltd were appointed to develop various masterplan development scheme proposals in support of pre-application and outline planning submissions to the County Council by Les Stephan Planning Consultants.
